Questions
Why are there two character counts?
Code points count each Unicode character; graphemes count what you see, so an emoji built from several code points counts once.
Is the word count accurate for Japanese?
It uses the browser’s word segmentation, which splits Japanese into words approximately. Character counts are exact.
