ONE SMALL TASK, DONE.

Subtitle Time Shifter

Move every subtitle earlier or later by an exact number of seconds.

Processed on your device

Paste text, open a file or try the sample to begin.

How to use

  1. Paste your SRT or WebVTT file, or open it from your device.
  2. Enter the delay in seconds: positive moves subtitles later, negative earlier.
  3. Run the tool and download the file in its original format.

Good to know

Accepts SRT and WebVTT. Output keeps the input format.

Cues ending before zero are removed. Cues crossing zero start at zero; the result reports how many were removed.

Text files up to 5 MB are supported. Downloads are encoded as UTF-8.

Questions

How do I know how many seconds to shift?

Play the video, note when a line is spoken and when its subtitle appears, and enter the difference. Use a minus sign if the subtitles appear too late.

What if only part of the file is out of sync?

Use the Partial Subtitle Shifter to move a range of cues, or the Frame Rate Fixer if the delay grows steadily through the video.
